🌟 Here's MAJOR business tip that came from a co 🌟 Here's MAJOR business tip that came from a conversation about marriage and kids!

Some context first: My friend went through a difficult time recently because he had to juggle work AND 2 kids because his wife was going to pop with their new baby any day!

Initially he was frustrated because he knew he had heaps of work to do that he couldn't get out of. He knew he wouldn't be able to do that work if he had to take care of his kids!

His expectation was to get lots of work done. And because of this expectation, he was frustrated allll day long with his kids.

His wife suggested he try a different approach; Try going in with the expectation to spend time with them and if you get around to your work, it's a bonus.

What happened next was fascinating! 

He joyfully and contently went into the day with an expectation to spend time with his kids. Because HE was more present and content, the kids were more content. They didn't protest against naps, they listened, etc. And this meant he naturally had more opportunities to work in the day! 

Just because he changed his expectations. Crazy.

Here's how this applies to your business: Your expectations can make your business journey unbearable OR fun and interesting.

If you start your Home Bakery with the expectation for it to be smooth-sailing (like these perfect little tarts in rows!), you'll feel HUGELY frustrated every day. Every single obstacle will overwhelm you.

With the expectation that "everything SHOULD go smoothly", you'll make this journey much harder than it needs to be. 

Things are NOT going to go your way all the time because this is BUSINESS!

But when you change your expectation to "I want to keep learning and growing as a business owner", then you'll feel successful pretty much every day - even when things go horribly wrong. Because even when things are going wrong, you're still learning and growing!

And with this kind of expectation in business, your success becomes an INEVITABLE FRUIT! This is how success works.

New years "Instagram vs Reality" - we could not ge New years "Instagram vs Reality" - we could not get Kitty to look at the camera 😂 and we spent the night alone because we were peopled-out introverts that day.

But happy new year to you!! I sincerely pray and hope that this year is a lovely, easier one for you. But even if it's not, there's always cake to make it better, right? 😜

In all seriousness, I know it's been hard. Besides all the craziness of Covid and politics around the world, you've been trying to create a successful Home Bakery on top of all that and I just want to say I SEE YOU. I see the heart you're putting into all you're doing. I think you're amazing. And I support you!

What you're busy doing is not small - it's not quick or easy. But nothing worthwhile is quick or easy, is it?

I need this reminder today too, because I started working on the Home Bakery PRO course again today and it's SOOO hard to get this done... I'm really struggling. It's not quick. It's not easy. I'm not feeling positive.

But is it worth it?? YES!

So, this is our kind reminder to keep pursuing the things that are hard, but worth it.

It's okay if it isn't "FUN" 24/7.
It's okay to stop and pause for a break - even if that means stopping for a month.
It's okay to feel unmotivated. 
It's okay to have a cry.

Just don't give up. You've come too far. Look at where you started and see how much you've grown! That's the stuff no amount of money can buy!

Let's take it one step, one day at a time...

Tired of low views on your stories? Ugh, the algor Tired of low views on your stories? Ugh, the algorithm 🙄 But I've got a tip to help you out!

This method works SO WELL for getting high engagement on your stories. And as you keep on doing it, it just keeps on increasing over time!

The method is for creating a BAKING SEQUENCE of 1 of your bakes. 

This can either be just the decorating part OR for the entire process. In my experience it works well to do it just for the decorating part, but hey, experiment and see what works for you! 😉

THE STEP-BY-STEP METHOD (save this post to refer back to these steps!):

1. Take photos of the thing you're decorating before and after you add things to it. For example: Take a photo of the unfrosted cupcakes, then another of the frosted cupcakes, then another with salted caramel added, then another with the nuts added on top.

2. Try to take all these photos from the exact same spot and from the same angle. You want nothing in these photos to be different from each other EXCEPT for your baked goods. If you've got a tripod, then use it to take photos from exactly the same spot, but it's not essential. I never use a tripod for this.

3.When you've got all your photos, start creating a new story on Instagram and select all the photos, in sequence, that you're going to share. When they've uploaded (still in story editor mode) you can move them around and zoom in and out so that all the photos line up. I like tapping back and forth a few times between the photos to make sure they're as identical as possible - with only the baked goods changing.

4. On each photo, write "TAP TO..." For example "TAP TO FROST" on photo 1. "TAP TO ADD CARAMEL" on photo 2 and "TAP TO ADD NUTS" on photo 3. Then on photo 4 write the name of this baked product and thank your peeps for helping you decorate them 😊

5. Share to your stories!

It's such a fun way to engage your audience and this method has a super low drop-off rate on your stories, meaning, most people will keep tapping to get to the finished baked goods. You've opened a story loop in their heads and they want to see how it all ends!Give it a go!
